first AID MEASURES
GENERAL INFORMATION
Move the exposed person to fresh air at once. Get medical attention if any discomfort continues.
INHALATION
Move the exposed person to fresh air at once. Perform artificial re
spiration if breathing has stopped. When breathing is difficult, properly
trained personnel may assist affected person by administering oxygen. Keep the affected person warm and at rest. Get prompt
medical
attention.
INGESTION
NEVER MAKE AN UNCONSCI
OUS PERSON VOMIT OR DRINK FLUIDS! Drink plenty of water. DO NOT induce vomiting. Get medical
attention immediately.
SKIN CONTACT
Remove affected person from source of contamination. Promptly wash contaminated skin with soap or mild detergent and wate
r. Promptly
remove clothing if soaked through and wash as above. Get medical attention immediately.
EYE CONTACT
Promptly wash eyes with plenty of water while lifting the eye lids. Continue to rinse for at least 15 minutes and get medica
l attention.
USAGE PRECAUTIONS
Keep away from heat, sparks and open flame. Avoid spilling, skin and eye contact. Vent
ilate well, avoid breathing vapours. Use
approved respirator if air contamination is above accepted level. Avoid acids, moisture, and combustible materials. Wear f
ull protective
clothing for prolonged exposure and/or high concentrations. Do not use
in confined spaces without adequate ventilation and/or respirator.
Static electricity and formation of sparks must be prevented. Storage tanks and other containers must be grounded. Use expl
osion proof
electric equipment. Do not handle broken packages w
ithout protective equipment.
STORAGE PRECAUTIONS
Flammable/combustible
-
Keep away from oxidisers, heat and flames. May attack some plastics, rubber and coatings. Ground container
and transfer equipment to eliminate static electric sparks. Take prec
autionary measures against static discharges. Do not store near heat
sources or expose to high temperatures. Unsuitable containers: aluminium. Keep away from food, drink and animal feeding stuf
fs.
STORAGE CLASS
Flammable liquid storage.
EYE PROTECTION
Wear approved chemical safety goggles where eye e
xposure is reasonably probable.
OTHER PROTECTION
Wear appropriate clothing to prevent any possibility of liquid contact and repeated or prolonged vapour contact. Provide eye
wash station.
HYGIENE MEASURES
DO NOT SMOKE IN WORK AREA! Wash at the end of
each work shift and before eating, smoking and using the toilet. Promptly remove
any clothing that becomes contaminated. When using do not eat, drink or smoke.
witch haze:
Witch hazel is a plant. The leaf, bark, and twigs are used to make medicine. You may see a product called witch hazel water (Hamamelis water, distilled witch hazel extract). This is a liquid that is distilled from dried leaves, bark, and partially dormant twigs of Hamamelis virginiana.
Witch hazel is taken by mouth for diarrhea, mucus colitis, vomitingblood, coughing up blood, tuberculosis, colds, fevers, tumors, and cancer.
Some people apply witch hazel directly to the skin for itching, pain and swelling (inflammation), eye inflammation, skin injury, mucous membrane inflammation, varicose veins, hemorrhoids, bruises, insect bites, minor burns, and other skin irritations.
In manufacturing, witch hazel leaf extract, bark extract, and witch hazel water are used as astringents to tighten the skin. They are also included in some medications to give those products the ability to slow down or stop bleeding. Those medications are used for treating insect bites, stings, teething, hemorrhoids, itching, irritations, and minor pain.

Highly flammable. Irritating to eyes. Repeated exposure may cause skin dryness or cracking. Vapours may cause drowsiness and dizziness
IN ALL CASES OF DOUBT OR WHEN SYMPTOMS PERSIST, ALWAYS SEEK
MEDICAL ATTENTION
IN H A LA T IO N :
Move affected person to fresh air.If recovery not rapid, seek medical attention. If
breathing stops, provide artificial respiration. Keep affected person warm and at rest.
IN G E ST I O N :
Only when conscious, rinse mouth with plenty of water and give plenty of water to
drink - (approx 500ml). DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING. In case of spontaneous
vomiting, be sure that vomit can freely drain because of danger of suffocation. Keep
patient at rest and obtain medical attention.
SKIN:
Remove contaminated clothing. Wash affected area with plenty of soap and water.
Obtain medical attention.
EYES:
Rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 5 minutes while lifting the eye lids.
Seek medical attention. Continue to rinse

these are the patch testing form and the health and safety check list that i had to make sure i was working to. i had to make sure that my model has been patch tested for all of the products that i was using to make sure she wouldnt have a reaction or be alergic.
i alo looked at the health and safety chech list through my formative and sumative assesemant as well as making my own to keep the station and the practical as safe and clean as possable.
